Waste-management company AQS Environmental Solutions is to invest €15m in new headquarters in Co Tipperary, with the creation of over 100 jobs over the next year.
The jobs will be created in its environmental engineering and administrative divisions, including specialist positions such as lab technicians, and in environmental consultancy.
AQS Environmental Solutions is a subsidiary of the Arlo Group, which has tow other environmental services subsidiaries, Acorn Recycling and JHL Sales.
The headquarters will be on the site of the former BSN medical factory in Thurles, which closed last year, and the three companies will operate out of this base to serve the UK and Ireland.
The company delivers drainage, environmental and waste management solutions to clients in Local authorites and the food processing, mining, retail, construction, pharmaceutical, aviation, power generation, transport and agricultural sectors.
Liam Kearney, MD of the Arlo group, says the group expects to employ over 100 employees by January, and will add an extra 60 next year.
He said that this is the conservative estimate of jobs creation.
At the moment the Arlo group employs around 58 people.
