Providence Resources has announced that it has successfully logged a total of 75 feet of net hydrocarbon bearing reservoir in their Hook Head Appraisal Well.
The company found that either a light oil or a rich gas was discovered during drilling at the well, which is located 60km off the coast of Co Waterford.
The firm's partners have now agreed to case the well, which will be followed by a flow testing programme.
Providence Resources is an independent oil and gas exploration company listed in both London and Dublin.
