NTR's recycling business makes US buy

Infrastructure group NTR said today that its recycling business, Greenstar North America, has bought US integrated recycle processing company Todd Heller.

At its AGM in Dublin today NTR announced the acquisition of the Pennsylvania based company.

Speaking today, Chairman, Tom Roche, said: 'As reported in our Annual Report for 2007, we have seen significant progress in the continuing evolution of NTR as a leading international developer and operator in renewable energy and sustainable waste management'.

Today's announcement further confirms our commitment to the sector and we believe will enhance Greenstar North America's objective of taking a leadership position in the US recycling industry, he added.

NTR is involved in wind energy through a 51% stake in Airtricity, waste through Greenstar, and green energy via a company called Bioverda.

It also has a stake in Irish Broadband and has toll concessions for the East Link bridge in Dublin, the M1, Waterford bypass and at Portlaoise.
