One of the world's largest providers of financial services is setting up a research and development operation in Galway, creating 49 jobs over the next three years with the assistance of IDA Ireland.
Fidelity Investments, which is the largest mutual fund company in the US, currently employs 300 people in Dublin and Galway.
The company first set up in Ireland in 1996.
MD of Fidelty's Irish operation, Paul Murtagh, said :'With this new R&D function, Fidelity is well-positioned to further expand its current operation in Galway and contribute to future technology projects'.
Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Micheál Martin, said: 'This will be one of the largest R&D functions from a global financial company to be located in Ireland'.
