Figures released from the CSO have pointed to a slowdown in growth in the construction industry for 2006.
Volume of production increased by 1.1% last year, compared with 12.6% in 2005.
The value of production in the sector grew by 7.7% in 2006, compared with 17.9% in the previous year.
The figures show strong growth in civil engineering with an increase of 26.8% in 2006, compared to a growth of 11.9% in 2005.
