EasyJet profit outlook 'on track'

EasyJet has reported passenger numbers of 9.9 million for its third quarter to the end of June, up 13% on a year earlier.

Load factor, or percentage of seats filled, dropped back 1.5 points to 84.5%. Revenue grew by 5.7% to £486.5m, but revenue per seat dropped 8% as fares fell.

EasyJet said the figures meant it was on track to deliver profit growth of 40-50% for the full year.

Meanwhile, its July passenger figures showed an increase of 17.5% from July 2006 to 3.7 million. The load factor dropped from 90.4% to 88.6%.
