Dublin-based spread betting company WorldSpreads has raised £5.77m (€8.6m) after floating on London's AIM stock market this morning.
At its opening price of 47p per share, the company is valued at £18.3m (€27m).
Co-founder and chief executive Conor Foley said the increased profile and extra funding from the listing would help the company to expand in a rapidly growing market.
The group was co-founded in Dublin by Mr Foley and Brian O'Neill in 2000. It started with spread betting on sporting events but has now expanded into the financial sector, including foreign exchange and futures and options.
It employs 12 people in London and 16 in Dublin.
