Official figures show that factory gate prices rose in June for the first time since January, though the annual rate of wholesale inflation is still negative.
The Central Statistics Office said factory gate prices rose by 0.7% compared with May, giving an annual rate of -0.8%.
The biggest monthly rose of 6.4% came in the dairy products sector, while chemicals were up 0.9%.
A breakdown showed that prices of building and construction materials rose by 0.3% in the month, while energy products were up 0.9%. Prices of petroleum fuels jumped by 3.7%.
