Official figures show that British retail sales rose by less than expected in June as wet weather affected supermarkets.
The Office for National Statistics said sales rose 0.2% from May, giving an annual growth rate of 3.4%. Food sales fell 1.1%.
The retail sales deflator, a measure of price pressures, fell to 0.1% from 0.5% in May, its lowest since February.
