£50m plan for five NI Ibis hotels

Five new hotels are to be built in Northern Ireland in a £50m investment programme. They will provide an additional 500 bedrooms.

Work on the first hotel at King Street close to Belfast city centre is due to begin in the next few weeks. All five hotels will be operated by Andras House, which already runs a number of hotels.

The new hotels will be the first in the North under the French-owned Ibis brand. Andras House chairman Lord Diljit Rana said the development would create 200 new jobs.

He said he believed the future for tourism in the North was excellent, especially now local politicians are back in government.
