The national minimum wage is to increase to €8.65 an hour from Sunday July 1. This is the second increase this year, with the first coming on January 1.
Small business group ISME claimed the rise would cause further damage to business competitiveness, calling it 'another body blow' for many small businesses.
The rise had already been signalled, after a Government decision in December to accepted a Labour Court recommendation on the rate.
