Figures from the Central Statistics Office show that factory gate prices fell in May for the fourth month in a row.
Prices were down 0.2% compared with April, giving an annual drop of 0.9%. Prices of pharmaceutical and chemical products dropped by 1.4% in the month, while the office machinery and computers category was 1.3% lower.
A breakdown showed that prices of building materials were up 0.1% in the month, while energy products rose 0.3%. Prices of petroleum fuels climbed by 1.1%, though they are down 3.4% over the year.
