Galway medical firm raises €2.3m

Galway-based medical devices company Crospon has secured €2.3m of funding, which includes investments by Enterprise Ireland, the Western Development Commission and a number of private investors.

Crospon develops devices for monitoring, diagnosis and therapy in the areas of endocrinology and gastroenterology.

It says the money raised will be used mainly to develop its EndoFlip system, which is used in the surgical treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disorder (GERD).

The EndoFlip system is the first of a range of products the company plans to bring to market.
