Ballsbridge residents have urged the City Council to go head this evening with rejection of plans for high rise development on the Jury's Hotel site.
Developer Sean Dunne, who paid €50m an acre for the 5.2 acre site, wants to include a 32-storey tower in a large residential, retail and office development.
Representatives of 14 different residents's associations in the area issued a statement following a meeting last night.
They point out that the plans by developer Sean Dunne have already been unaminously rejected by the local area committee of councillors and are opposed by all local TDs.
The group say the density of the development is three times that of the IFSC. It would also involve eight-storey buildings on the footpath across the road from the RDS.
It is understood that some councillors from Fianna Fail will this evening request that a decision is deferred to give more time for consideration.
But opponents of the scheme say it has already been rejected by local councillors and this should be endorsed by the full council meeting.
