Over 1,000 jobs are to be axed by banking giant Barclays over the next three years in a move aimed at improving efficiency, staff were told today.
The cuts will be made at the firm's offices in Poole, Dorset, which employs 1,900 staff.
Barclays said it hoped to achieve some of the losses through natural wastage, adding that the jobs would include back office functions.
