Ryanair is to start seven new routed from its Bremen base in north-western Germany, bringing its routes from the city to 18.
Sean Coyle of Ryanair said the seven new routes brought the airline's investment in Bremen to $220m.
Ryanair also said today it was in talks with Bratislava airport about opening a new base there.
The airline now operates five routes from the Slovac capital to Italy, Germany and Britain.
Tomasz Kulakowski, Ryanair's sales executive for central Europe, said 10 million Ryanair passengers might use the Slovak airport over the next five years if its new base is placed here.
