Insurance group FBD is to distribute €177m of the company's reserves to its shareholders.
A statement said the board had not yet decided how to give back the money, but it would advise shareholders before an EGM on May 22. The money will be distributed to shareholders on the register on June 8 2007.
The board will be seeking approval from the EGM to have flexibility on the method of distribution as a possible alternative to a special dividend.
