Northern Ireland electricity generator Viridian, which owns the Huntstown power plant in north Co Dublin, has appointed finance director Patrick Bourke as CEO.
Viridian said former CEO Patrick Haren, who has led NIE and Viridian for the last 15 years, will be staying with the group as a non-executive Deputy Chairman.
Patrick Bourke has been finance director since 2000. He led Viridian's restructuring of its investments outside the energy sector, as a prelude to the €500m of investment committed to generation capacity in the Republic of Ireland.
