The Duffy Meat Processing plant in Gort, Co Galway, which employs a workforce of 80, is to be sold with an unspecified number of job losses.
The company announced that it is selling the plant to the North South Pig Company and that its operations will be scaled back with resultant reduncancies.
In a statement it said a major fire in the factory in 2004 had adversely affected its viability, and it was currently engaged in a legal dispute with its insurers over the building of a replacement plant.
