Media group Thomas Crosbie Holdings has acquired a 75% shareholding in the youth-orientated regional radio station Beat 102-103.
WLR FM managing director Des Whelan has increased his stake in the station, which broadcasts to the southeast, to 25%.
The outgoing chairman of Beat 102-103, Trevor Bowen, said the shareholders had been aware WLR FM were in negotiations to sell a majority stake.
The transaction is subject to approval by the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland and the Competition Authority.
