EBS DOCUMENTS LEAKED - The boardroom row at the EBS Building Society over the reappointment of board member Eithne Tinney has taken a dramatic turn with the leaking of boardroom documents outlining rifts within the board last year.
The leaks expose that two board members, Cathal Magee and Ron Bolger, were unhappy with aspects of the running of the society. Yesterday further correspondence from EBS board members was leaked into the public domain.
Three leaked memos describe how Mr Magee felt corporately bullied and Mr Bolger felt personally discredited when he spoke out. In another memo, then chairman Brian Joyce complains of a campaign aimed at getting him to resign.
Current EBS chairman, Mark Moran, who took up his appointment in January, said the leaks were 'reprehensible' but said that while the board had had some issues last year, these were now resolved.
Speaking on RTE Radio this morning, Ms Tinney said that her basic concern was that the board is not looking after the interests of the members of the society.
