United Drug upbeat on 2007 outlook

Healthcare services group, United Drug, has said profits in its first quarter were ahead of the same three months last year, and that prospects for the full year are good.

Speaking today at the company's AGM, chairman chairman Ronnie Kells said the company had 'robust' plans in place to manage the outcome of phase one of the Government's review of the drug pricing agreement, which will result in a reduction in the price of off patent branded medicines.

'Our new acquisitions are performing ahead of expectations and we expect to make further progress during the year with our strategy of developing United Drug into a broadly based healthcare services group', he said.

He added that against this background the outlook is for a successful 2007.
