One hundred staff at US outsourcing company Zomax have been put on protective notice in Santry, Dublin following a warning from employers yesterday that a major contract has not been renewed.
Zomax is involved in the manufacture and distribution of products such as CDs and printing materials, which are outsourced by other companies.
The company employs 155 workers in Santry and around 100 in Blanchardstown. The company said in a statement that employees in its joint venture with supply chain services firm MPO at Blanchardstown are not affected.
Paddy Burke, MD of Zomax Ireland, said the company is working to secure alternative opportunities to replace the lost business, but negotiations take time, and it had no choice but to issue the protective notice to the affected employees.
