Industrial production for manufacturing industries in the three months to December fell 2.8% on the preceding three month period, though there was a big monthly rise.
On an annual basis for all manufacturing industries, production in December was 15.2% higher than in the same month in 2005.
The 'modern sector', which comprises high-technology and chemical firms, showed an annual increase in production of 22.1%, while an increase of 0.6% was recorded in the 'traditional' sector - which includes food and pharmaceuticals.
Turnover was up 1% in the three month period compared to the same period the previous year, and on a yearly basis in December turnover was up 6.5%.
In the quarter, industrial production of pharmaceuticals, medical chemicals and botanical products fell 10.3%. The volume of industrial production of food products and beverages fell 8.9% overall, compared to the previous three months.
