UTV Radio Ireland's Live 95FM has been awarded a 10-year radio licence to broadcast to Limerick.
The Broadcasting Commission of Ireland (BCI) awarded the licence to the station which has been broadcasting in the area since November 1997. Last year the station had a market share of 53.7% according to JNLR mrbi figures.
The station beat off competition from the other bidder, Heart FM.
The new licence, which is subject to negotiations between the station and the BCI, is due to commence in October.
Live 95FM was acquired by UTV in June 2002.
