The Minister for Finance Brian Cowen has nominated Anne Counihan as a director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
Ms Counihan will represent Denmark, Ireland, Lithuania and Macedonia.
Ms Counihan was appointed CEO of the National Development Finance Agency in 2003 and is also a director of the National Treasury Management Agency.
Minister Cowen said Ms Counihan's expertise will enable her to make a significant contribution to the important work of the bank. He also thanked Des O'Malley for his work undertaken at the bank over the last few years.
