Industrial production slump in November

Seasonally adjusted figures from the Central Statistics Office show a sharp drop in industrial production in November.

Production in the month was down 12% compared with November 2005, while the three-month September to November figure showed a fall of 6% compared with the previous three months.

For November, the modern sector - which includes high-tech and chemical firms - dropped by 14.6% on the same month last year, while the traditional sector fell 1.6%.
