Chemist chain Alliance Boots says its total sales in its third quarter to the end of December rose by 2.7% compared with a year earlier. Like-for-like sales, which strip out new stores, were 1.6% ahead.
The company said Ireland continued to be one of the top performing areas within the company, with its Liffey Valley store delivered the second highest sales across the entire chain of over 3,000 stores for the Christmas period. The Jervis Street store also ranked within the top 30 stores in the group.
Boots Ireland director Rhys Iley said the company's busiest day was on Saturday December 23. Boots has 41 Irish stores.
