British holiday company MyTravel Group is in discussions about the possible acquisition of rival First Choice's main package holiday business.
MyTravel said in a statement that any offer would be in cash but it was also prepared to consider including the issue of equity as part of its offer.
First Choice had earlier said it was in early-stage talks with a number of parties over the possible sale of its main package holiday business. Both statements came in response to a report in the Sunday Times, which said the First Choice business was worth about £500m.
First Choice owns Falcon/JWT Holidays and First Choice Travel Shops in Ireland.
