DSG International, parent company of DSG Ireland, today said that overall group performance for the 28 weeks to November 11 was up by 14%.
In a trading statement today, the group said that its Irish operations delivered strong total sales growth of 28% with like-for-like sales up by 14%.
During the first half of the year, DSG opened up three new stores in Naas, Sligo and Carrickmines in Dublin. It has plans to open another four in the current financial year.
'The flat panel TV market is buoyant, white goods sales are performing well in Ireland as the housing market continues to expand, and computing is doing very well, led by strong sales of laptops and broadband penetration now started to take off in Ireland,' commented Declan Ronayne, General Manager of DSG Ireland.
Meanwhile the DSG group reported 'pleasing' performances in the UK, Nordic countries, Greece, Spain and its rapidly expanding Central European businesses - as well as at its Irish operations.
'Growing contributions from our on-line pure-play operations, PIXMania and Dixons.co.uk have helped overall group sales to grow by 14% in the first half,' today's trading statement said.
