Australian electrical and furniture retailer Harvey Norman Holdings has said it expects a good performance this financial year after a strong first four months.
At the company's AGM today in Australia, the group's chairman Gerald Harvey said sales from stores in Australia, New Zealand, Slovenia and Ireland increased by 18% to A$1.67 billion (€1 billion).
Harvey said the company had ambitions to become a global retailer and was looking to increase its overseas presence, but would focus on countries where it already had outlets.
Harvey Norman has nine stores in the Republic of Ireland and is in talks with parties in Northern Ireland and Scotland.
