Tullow's North Sea test disappoints

Exploration company Tullow Oil has reported results from test drilling at its NW Schooner well in the North Sea.

It says the well encountered gas, but the amount found was significantly below expectations. The well has now been suspended while Tullow examines the implications of the results.

Tullow has also announced that its Ketch-7 well was brought into production on October 8. A second Ketch development well, Ketch-8, is currently being drilled and it is hoped this will be in production in January.
