South Wharf and Dublin Port Company said this morning that they has received a tender worth almost €412m for the former Irish Glass plant at Ringsend in Dublin. Bidding for the site ended last week.
Without naming who the winning tenderer was, the two companies said that the process will now move to the next stage. Before the deal is completed, the selected bidder must secure the recommendation of the Board of South Wharf and satisfy a number of conditions.
In June, South Wharf said it has reached agreement with Dublin Port on their dispute over the site occupied by the company in Ringsend.
The 25-acre site is occupied under long leases by South Wharf in connection with the glass manufacturing and glass packaging agency business.
The area was re-zoned in 2003 and 2005 to permit commercial, residential and retail use.
South Wharf shares closed at €7 in Dublin this evening.
