New York-listed industrial giant Ingersoll-Rand has bought Slane-based engineering company Geith International from its management shareholders and two venture capital funds managed by Bank of Scotland (Ireland).
Geith, founded in 1950, makes attachments for construction equipment. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
In addition to its facility in Slane, Geith has production, sales and service plants in Wales and the US. It employs 290 people and generated sales of around €42m in the year to the end of March.
Geith was previously part of Tyrone-based engineering firm Powerscreen before being bought out by a management team.
