Airbus parent EADS today announced further delays in A380 deliveries, but said it was too early to gauge the delivery schedule or any financial impact from the latest setbacks to the superjumbo.
It is the third announcement of delays to the flagship Airbus project and the second since June when wiring installation problems led to a profit warning and a management shake-up. The project has so far been delayed by a year.
'From what is known today, there will be further delays,' EADS said in a statement, following days of speculation about another delivery setback.
'The current status is that we have not finalised the schedule of deliveries nor the financial impact of any delays. All appropriate resources are focused on bringing the ongoing assessment to maturity,' it added.
The company said it would provide more details within four weeks. It had previously said it would provide a firm A380 delivery schedule by the end of September.
