The management team of one of the country's biggest stockbrokers, Davy, is in talks to buy out Bank of Ireland's 90% stake in the firm.
A statement from Bank of Ireland said that as the proposal was subject to conditions, including funding and regulatory approval, there was no certainty that a deal would be concluded.
The management team - including Brian Davy, Tony Garry and Kieran McLaughlin - currently own almost 10% of the stockbroker.
BoI's 90% stake could be valued in the region of E300m.
