Seasonally adjusted figures show that the volume of manufacturing production in the three months from May to July was up 8.4% on the previous three months.
The Central Statistics Office said production in July was 8.1% higher than in the same month last year. This increase included a 10.4% rise in the modern sector - which comprises the technology and chemical sectors - and a 4.8% climb in the traditional sector.
