Results from German pharmaceutical group Celesio show that revenue from its Irish wholesale business Cahill May Roberts was €144.7m in the first half of this year, up 18% on a year earlier.
In the group's 59 pharmacies in the Republic, revenue was up 6% to €57.8m. Celesio said Unicare showed significant growth despite competition from new pharmacies.
Celesio signalled that it was looking to buy more pharmacies, saying its Irish chain had not yet reached 'the optimum size'.
