Jagran Prakashan, the Indian publishing house in which Independent News and Meda holds a 21% stake, today reported profit after tax for the first quarter of its financial year up 433% at €4m.
In the same three month period revenue was 20% higher at €24m.
The company said the increases were down to improved advertising revenue and higher circulation.
