BIAM hopes for pick-up after changes

Bank of Ireland's asset management division BIAM has announced a shake-up of its management structure aimed at improving its performance after recent losses of business.

The division has appointed three new managing directors. Chris Johns, an investment strategist at Collins Stewart in London, is to be managing director of global research, while Paul Boyne becomes head of global equities.

Sean Crowe, currently head of trading and investment at BoI Global Markets, will be responsible for BIAM's global fixed income and specialist products.

BIAM said the new structure was designed to accelerate a turnaround in performance.
