Tesco has announced the acquisition of Polish convenience retailer Leader Price.
Leader Price had sales of £167m last year. The deal, subject to regulatory approvals, is worth £72m.
Tesco says the deal will help it to expand in 'the highly fragmented and competitive' Polish market. After ten years of trading in Poland, Tesco now employs more than 20,000 people.
