A €2m research project in the e-learning sector was launched today by the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Micheál Martin.
The programme will focus research on delivering the development of next generation e-learning products and services for Irish e-learning companies.
Launching the initiative, Minister Martin said that Ireland is in a strong position to compete in the global e-learning market - both from its geographical position and because it already has a cluster of established indigenous companies.
He added that it was pleasing that the research agenda came from the industry through the networking activity of the e-learning CEO forum.
The project is one of three such industry-led research programmes supported by Enterprise Ireland last year with similar projects progressing in the power electronics and biotechnology sectors.
