Tullow Oil said today that its Waraga-1 well in Uganda had been successfully tested and that initial results showed a flow rate of around 1,500 barrels of oil a day.
Tullow said a stabilised rate had been established in the well, in which it has a 50% stake. It said that this is sufficient to derive composition, flow characteristics and key reservoir parameters.
The well is operated by Australia's Hardman Resources, which owns the other 50% stake
