Employees at Nortel's R&D facility in Galway have received recognition for their research and development achievements from the firm's headquarters in Canada.
Twenty three inventors today received 61 Nortel patent awards for recently issued patents or patent applications filed.
Nortel employs 300 people in Galway, over 150 of whom are engaged in R&D activity.
Nortel delivers communication solutions such as Voice over IP, multimedia services and applications, and wireless broadband.
