A new survey shows that 66% of young people believe that the Government should do more to help first time buyers. Measures could include reducing stamp duty and a first time buyer's grant.
The survey, conducted by the Marketing Development Programme in the UCD Michael Smurfit School of Business, assessed the attitudes of 392 of Dublin's young people towards housing in Dublin city.
The research also established that 93% of Dublin's young people believe that property prices in the city are overvalued, while only 29% believe they will realistically be able to afford to buy a house in the next two years.
