British budget airline EasyJet says it carried 2.85 million passengers in April, up 16.8% from the same month a year earlier.
The load factor, a measure of how may seats are filled, climbed from 85.2% to 86.4%. The figures were boosted by the timing of Easter, which fell in March in 2005.
BA and Ryanair also reported strong increases in April passenger traffic last week.
