Central Statistics Office figures show that industrial employment was 239,300 in December, up 2,300 on the September figure but 200 lower than the figure for a year earlier. This was the second consecutive quarterly increase.
Average weekly industrial earnings rose by 3.1% to €592.05 in the year to December, while the average number of hours worked was up 1%.
