The HSBC banking group in Ireland today opened its new €2m centre in Sandyford, Dublin. The new 24,000 square-foot facility will employ up to 170 full-time staff and provide fund administration services for large commercial clients as well as training for HSBC staff from throughout Europe.
The banking group has about 550 workers in Ireland.
HSBC Securities Services is the specific HSBC business in Ireland that will use the new Sandyford facility.
HSBC's Irish headquarters is in Dublin's Harcourt Centre. This month, the company plans to open three new household bank-branded consumer finance offices in northwest Dublin, Naas and Galway. It already has consumer lending offices in Dublin and Limerick.
'The infrastructure, a responsive approach to regulation and a highly educated workforce makes Ireland a very attractive place to do business. We see a bright future here as we grow our securities, insurance, banking and consumer finance businesses', commented HSBC Group Chairman Sir John Bond.
