Ferrovial says BAA denies due diligence access

Spain's Ferrovial said today that Britain's BAA has denied it access to carry out due diligence for its proposed takeover of the airport operator which runs London's Heathrow airport.

The construction and services group, whose £8.8 billion sterling takeover proposal has been rejected by BAA also said it was talking to BAA shareholders through its advisers and keeping all its options open.

'We asked the BAA board for access to carry out due diligence and, for the moment, it has been denied,' Chairman Rafael del Pino said at the company's shareholder meeting today.
