The Oireachtas Transport Committee has passed a motion by Labour's Roisin Shorthall, calling on the Committee to examine all aspects of the proposed sale of Aer Lingus and to hear the views of interested parties.
Deputy Shorthall said there were 'huge dangers' that the privatisation of Aer Lingus would go 'exactly the same way' as the sale of Eircom.
The committee plans to advertise in the national newspapers next week seeking submissions from interested parties about the proposed sale.
It plans to begin public hearings with SIPTU, IMPACT and Aer Lingus management on April 6.
